The wine

Scharzhofberger Kabinett comes from the renowned Scharzhofberg, a steep south-facing slope on Devonian slate. Harvest is by hand and fermentation uses native yeasts with minimal intervention. It is a light Kabinett, with modest alcohol and gentle residual sweetness.

Delicate and crisp, with white-fleshed fruit, vibrant freshness and a savoury, mineral finish.

The producer

Egon Müller

Egon Müller-Scharzhof is the historic estate in Wiltingen, on the Saar, bought in 1797 by Jean-Jacques Koch and passed to the Müller family through marriage. Egon Müller IV has run it since 1991 and it owns about seven hectares in the Scharzhofberg.
