One of the earliest harvests in Burgundy's history, 2020 came from a hot, very dry season that produced concentrated grapes which, surprisingly, retained plenty of freshness. Rousseau's Chambertin 2020 embodies that dual nature: intense dark fruit, with blackberry, black cherry, liquorice and spice, yet also acid tension and minerality that keep its stride elegant. Robert Parker rated it 96 points and Jancis Robinson 18/20. This is a Grand Cru of great structure and potential, still in its early youth today and asking for patience before it fully expresses itself and reveals the depth of this great site.

In Gevrey-Chambertin the Rousseau name is synonymous with Pinot Noir at its highest level. The domaine was founded in the early twentieth century by Armand Rousseau, who gradually acquired parcels in the village's finest climats and was among the first in Burgundy to bottle his own wine. His son Charles expanded the holdings and the estate's international reputation, and today the domaine is led by Eric Rousseau together with his daughter Cyrielle. At its heart lie some of the most prestigious Grands Crus of the Côte de Nuits, including Chambertin, where the family is one of the leading owners, Chambertin Clos de Bèze, Mazis-Chambertin, Charmes-Chambertin and Clos de la Roche, as well as the legendary Premier Cru Clos Saint-Jacques. The house style favours purity of fruit, transparency and fine tannins, without excessive extraction or new oak. Rousseau's wines unite elegance and depth and rank among the most sought-after Burgundies in the world.
