The wine
Cornas 2020, Syrah da vigne vecchie delle parcelle La Côte, La Sabarotte e Reynard, vinificato a grappolo intero in vasche di cemento e affinato in foudres usati. Valutazioni molto alte (Vinous 97-98).
Tasting notes
Profumi intensi di frutti neri in confettura, olio di viola, oliva, carne stagionata e fumo di legna; bocca di mora speziata, ciliegia amara e note di violetta, con tannini giovani e fitti.

Il Domaine Auguste Clape è una storica famiglia di Cornas, che dal 1957 imbottiglia in proprio. Oggi è condotto da Pierre-Marie e dal figlio Olivier, con circa 9 ettari su ripidi pendii granitici e nessun legno nuovo.
